Candy Apples & Caramel Apples
To make your own:
Ingredients

4 or 5 medium sized New York Empire apples
1 pound caramels
2 tablespoons of hot water
Directions
Place caramels and water into top of double boiler.
Heat, stirring frequently until caramels are melted and sauce is smooth.
Stick a wooden skewer into the stem of each apple. Dip into the hot caramel. If desired, roll in flake coconut, chocolate sprinkles, chocolate, chopped nuts, crushed Oreo® cookies, etc.
Place on wax paper and set in refrigerator for a few minutes until caramel is firm.

Homemade Fudge
Its basic ingredients include granulated sugar, cream, unsweetened chocolate, and butter, but after slowly heating the mixture and placing it into a pan, it results in one of Pennings Orchard & Farm Market’s latest gourmet delicacies: chocolate fudge.
Available in mint, chocolate, tiger butter, butter pecan, chocolate swirl, and caramel apple pie flavors, Pennings Fudge is one of many culinary delicacies featured at the family-owned store. A core philosophy of Pennings Farm Market is that whether showcasing the variety of locally grown produce or introducing people to unique, gourmet products, it is a distinctive food retailer with a farm market sensibility. “This is a food that appeals to all age groups and all tastes; it’s just one of those wonderful sweets that’s a lot of fun to enjoy,” declared owner, Steve Pennings, whom the staff has asked to limit his visit to that department. Chocolate was first discovered over 3,000 years ago by natives of South and Central America. The Aztecs believed that it provided vitality, energy, and longevity.
Pennings Taffy
Pennings taffy is whipped with egg whites, making it lighter and easier to chew, and the quality of the flavors and colors is excellent.
