The Pennings family has a history deeply rooted in farming and agriculture. Jake Pennings began dairy and tulip farming with his 12 brothers and sisters in Holland. At age 18 he took his knowledge of farming and came to the United States where he built his dairy business with wife Johanna and 10 children. After the family sold the dairy farm in 1980 their son Jack Pennings went on to purchase the 100 acre Park Farm in the historic Hudson Valley town of Warwick, NY. Soon after he was joined by his brother Steve and they opened Pennings Orchard, a 25 acre orchard with u-pick apples, pumpkins, cut flowers, vegetables, and a small roadside stand. Since then the brothers have expanded the farm to over 50 acres of orchard and relocated the farm stand to its current location in 1989. Pennings Farm is now two separate operations working together with the same goal of supporting local farms and businesses while keeping the farming tradition alive. The Farm Market is run by Steve and Jill Pennings and the Orchard by Jack Jr. and Monica Pennings.
